Every machine has its place, but, for what this F1 cost, (1700 dollars), It will *never* sit on my workbench. A 20 watt Fiber Laser, (10 times the power), can be bought for only ~1800 dollars with LIGHTNING SPEED.... I purchased the 30 watt Commarker B4 with rotary for 2500 bucks. IMO, my money was better spent than buying this "FAD" unit that is way overpriced for what you receive. I would be finishing my 10th coin before this F1 would finish just one.... So there....

To convert the angle from degrees to slope percentage you would want to use the following formula with your scientific calculator --- Percentage = Tan(Degrees) x 100

That “fin” is a heat sink - which has a multiplicity of fins…

Hi I have purchased your files for the feet and grid from Etsy. I have made the feet with no issues but when i am attempting to create the waste board grid i get the following error message . " the element is outside of the processing area." I have the XTool D1 Pro 20W with the emergency stop. I am using the file under the XTool 2 folder. The open file has red print X410 Y 380. I am usingf Xtool creative space which now has absolute coordinates, I am a newby to this hobby so not sure how to resolve. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Michael

Exceptional work. Like others, I was frustrated with xTool's learning support, questioning my purchase of an S1, and not getting much (other than dizzy from watching mouse pointers move around the screen) from other UA-cam videos about XCS. When your video appeared in the feed, I thought, “ok . . . one more . . . “ I watched it non stop and have returned to it for refreshers on some details. Also purchased your S1 grid on Etsy. Thank you; keep up the great work!

Great video. I will have to watch several times. I haven't set up my S1 yet but will have to come back to review different steps. One question, If you put the grid on the pan It will only work for engraving as when cutting it would mark on the pan and destroy the grid. If you use the honeycomb you have lost the placement lines and can't position your workpiece where you want it and when you cut it will still pass thru to the pan. How do you protect the grid on the pan from being damaged? Will you be putting updates out on the new changes in xcs? Thanks again for the great video.

Superb... I have been looking for this as have just purchased the 40W extended version with the RA2 ,,,and have a spare 20W laser...and bars...so this will be first project in the build...

I hope Leo at some point decides to come up with a IR laser option similar to XTools S1 to add to the machines. I’d really like to be able to engrave on metal and this machine seems to be the one to start with.

Have you used the Xtool stuff? Just wondering how they compare if you have and which you like better. Im looking to get into something like this soon so Im trying to buy right the first time. So far I think I like this better because it looks like it does the same stuff that the Xtool does, but for a better price. Does the laser come with software to download? if not, where do you get the software program to run the laser?

Perhaps unidirectional engraving mode could help reduce heat in the material such as aluminum or steel engraving by giving the metal time to cool? Help prevent warping?Great tutorial, Thanks!

thx for the great video! Is it a problem for deep engravings in gold, silver or platinum that the frequency spacing is just the range from 40-60khz?

im am very interested in the 70 watt ikier or atomstack. i have a 60watt c02 but my max setting is 60% to keep it right at my 20ma. its in the garage and i cut alot but when it gets warm im shut down. mostly cut rev ply from lowes. 4.5mm. I cut at 1.25 inches per second or 32mm p/s but run 7 passes just to make sure it cut threw all the fibers and glue. my question would be if the 70W diode can cut same material as fast or even faster. Hate to purchase this machine and it be way slower., but at least i wouldnt be subject to not lasering in 90deg heat
